The bonds we made.

The kindness we gave.

The happiness we shared.

And the memories we bear.

More than these things few

Make up my gift for you.

I could give bouquet flowers

But they would have been dead for many hours.

I could give sweets

But they would be gone before we meet.

I could give gemstones

But they would show my feelings unknown.

I could give a Hallmark card

But it would be another’s regards.

So made out of our time together

This gift through time it weathers.

Though it does not look much, it means the world.

As we rejoice in our relationship unfurled.
